Marvel Unlimited Shutting Down, Will Be Replaced by ‘Marvel Comics Powered by Webtoon’

Marvel Unlimited, the company’s digital comics subscription service that has operated for approximately 19 years, will be shutting down on December 17, 2026. The platform is being replaced by a new service called Marvel Comics Powered by Webtoon, which will launch on November 16, 2026.

Marvel has discontinued accepting new subscriptions effective immediately. Existing subscribers will retain free access to Marvel Unlimited through its final shutdown date, ensuring no disruption during the transition period. When the new platform launches on November 16, all existing subscribers will receive prorated refunds for any remaining subscription value on their accounts. Any subscription charges processed recently will be the final billings before the service closes.

This transition represents a significant strategic shift for Marvel’s digital comics distribution. The consolidation under Webtoon’s platform infrastructure indicates Marvel’s effort to modernize its digital publishing capabilities while leveraging Webtoon’s established technology and user base. The partnership combines Marvel’s extensive comic catalog with Webtoon’s platform experience in digital content delivery.
