NBA 2K25 Is Getting Delisted Soon, Single-Player Modes Also Closing Down

NBA 2K25 is being delisted from digital storefronts effective October 30, 2026, with complete server shutdowns following on January 1, 2027. This action will render the game’s single-player MyCareer story mode and MyTeam mode unplayable, as both are dependent on online server connectivity for progression and virtual currency systems.

Players who own NBA 2K25 can continue to redownload the game after delisting and play offline, though access to all online functionality will be permanently severed. Several modes will remain available in offline form, including Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA, allowing players to enjoy portions of the game without server connectivity.

The delisting occurs just two years after NBA 2K25’s launch in September 2024, reflecting the industry standard lifecycle for annual sports titles. The server shutdown affects all multiplayer components and prevents future acquisition of in-game virtual currency, effectively ending the live-service aspects of the game. This decision aligns with 2K Sports’ typical approach to discontinuing older entries in the NBA 2K franchise as new annual releases arrive.
