Witcher 3 Remastered Performance Issues Being Addressed by Devs
The Witcher 3 Remastered has launched as a free update to the 2015 classic, achieving record-breaking player numbers across platforms. However, the release has been marred by widespread performance issues, particularly affecting PlayStation 5 players. Reported problems include dropped frames, screen tearing, audio issues, environmental flickering, and frequent crashes that have rendered the game borderline unplayable for some users. The severity of these issues appears inconsistent—while some players experience smooth gameplay, others face repeated crashes that significantly impact their experience.
Windows PC users have encountered fewer critical issues overall, though some have reported performance problems linked to Ray Tracing and Nvidia Hairworks features. In response to player feedback, CD Projekt Red has publicly acknowledged the problems and confirmed that performance improvements are in development, with particular focus on PS5 optimization. The studio has announced five key fixes currently in progress that are expected to ship in an upcoming update, demonstrating a commitment to resolving the technical problems and stabilizing the remaster across all platforms.
