Review: The Witcher III: Wild Hunt - Remastered (Switch 2) - A Huge Upgrade For An All-Time Great
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered has launched on Nintendo Switch 2, delivering a significant visual upgrade over the original Switch port. The initial Switch release required substantial compromises to run the expansive RPG on the console’s limited hardware—character models appeared murky and environmental details like foliage were drastically reduced.
The Switch 2 remaster resolves many of these limitations. The console’s increased processing power enables substantially improved graphics, making this the highest-quality version of the game released to date. However, the remaster is not without minor issues: some performance inconsistencies persist during gameplay, and recent combat system overhauls have not proved as impactful as intended.
Despite these small shortcomings, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered is considered the definitive version of one of gaming’s greatest RPGs, offering players the chance to experience the acclaimed adventure in portable form with significantly enhanced visual fidelity.
