Crossy Road Rush leads Apple Arcade’s November line-up

Crossy Road Rush, the latest entry in the Crossy Road franchise, will launch exclusively on Apple Arcade on November 5. Developed by Hipster Whale and published by Atari, the game is described as an “arcade-action platforming runner” that supports up to four players in both local and online multiplayer modes.

The game features a single-player adventure mode with 50 stages, alongside survival mode and various unlockable content. The title represents Hipster Whale’s next major release following Atari’s acquisition of the Australian studio in June 2025 for an initial fee of $29.3 million. The deal includes $3.3 million in Atari shares and potential earnout payments of up to $10 million over three years if Hipster Whale meets its targets.

This launch marks a significant moment for both companies. Hipster Whale had reportedly turned away multiple acquisition offers over the years before accepting Atari’s bid. The studio’s existing franchises, particularly Crossy Road, have become valuable properties in the mobile gaming space, making them attractive to an established publisher like Atari.

The Apple Arcade exclusive release strategy highlights both companies’ commitment to the subscription gaming platform. With its multiplayer-focused gameplay and arcade-style mechanics, Crossy Road Rush is positioned as a premium title for Apple’s gaming service ahead of the November launch period.
