Ex-Activision CEO Bobby Kotick Joins Skydance Board of Directors Following WB-Paramount Merger

Former Activision Blizzard King CEO Bobby Kotick has joined the board of directors at Skydance, the newly formed company created by Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The appointment marks Kotick’s next major role following his departure from Activision.

Kotick stepped down from his position as CEO of Activision Blizzard King after Microsoft completed its $69 billion acquisition of the gaming publisher, one of the largest deals in gaming industry history. Now, with his board appointment at Skydance, Kotick has transitioned from leading one of gaming’s largest publishers to a role in the broader entertainment sector.

The Skydance company, led by David Ellison, was established following Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. This merger brings together significant media and entertainment assets, including gaming, film, television, and streaming properties that were previously operated separately. Kotick’s addition to the board indicates his continued involvement in high-level strategic decisions within the entertainment industry, even as the sector continues to experience major consolidation and restructuring.
