Netflix expands TV game lineup with Conjuring spinoff
Netflix has announced The Conjuring: Unspoken, an exclusive interactive horror game launching October 13th on the platform. Developed by Supermassive Games, the narrative-driven experience is set in The Conjuring cinematic universe and plays uniquely through smartphone controllers, allowing players to experience the game from their couch.
Players take on the role of demonologist Francesca Noakes investigating paranormal activity at the Red Lion Inn, a reportedly haunted location in England. Gameplay centers on exploration and narrative choice, with players using electronic scanning tools to uncover environmental clues while shaping the story through dialogue decisions throughout the investigation.
The launch marks Netflix’s continued push to expand its gaming portfolio with premium interactive titles. The timing coincides with developer Supermassive Games’ recent announcement of planned layoffs, which may impact the studio’s upcoming project pipeline.
