Call Of Duty’s Richtofen Actor Wants Him To Come Back, Says 2027’s CoD Could Be From Sledgehammer
Nolan North, the veteran voice actor behind Dr. Edward Richtofen from Call of Duty: Black Ops’ Zombies mode, has expressed his desire to reprise the character in a future game. Speaking at Gamergy in Puerto Rico, North stated that he hopes Richtofen’s story will continue, emphasizing that he doesn’t want it to be the character’s final appearance.
However, North cautioned that any return for the character may not happen in the immediate future. According to North’s speculation, 2027’s Call of Duty game could be developed by Sledgehammer Games, which would mean the franchise’s rotation between studios would likely delay the next Black Ops installment until at least 2028. North noted that both Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer have the next two Call of Duty titles before another Black Ops game is expected.
Despite the potential wait, North expressed optimism about leaving the character’s story open-ended, suggesting his preference is for narrative continuity rather than closure in the beloved Zombies mode.
