Scopely’s Genshin Impact-like Marvel game, dubbed Project Comet, seems to have leaked

Scopely’s unreleased Marvel game, codenamed Project Comet, has reportedly leaked online. A video of the project surfaced on Chinese video platform Bilibili on October 2, with the footage subsequently circulating on TikTok for approximately a month before being covered by gaming media outlets including TheGamer and Insider Gaming.

According to those who have seen the leaked footage, Project Comet is an open-world action RPG with a gameplay style similar to miHoYo’s Genshin Impact. The game will feature crossplay between mobile and PC versions, allowing players to seamlessly switch between platforms. The leaked video showcases 4-player cooperative gameplay, with heroes from the Marvel universe including Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Black Widow, War Machine, and Spider-Man featured in the footage.

The leak represents the first public glimpse of the project, as neither Scopely nor Marvel have made any official announcement regarding the game’s development or details. Scopely, known for developing mobile titles such as MONOPOLY GO!, appears to be leveraging its expertise in live-service mobile games to bring a major Marvel property to market.

The timing of the leak, appearing on Bilibili before mainstream gaming media coverage, suggests the footage may have originated from early testing in regions outside Western markets. This pattern is not uncommon for Chinese platforms to receive content before official announcements in other regions. At the time of reporting, Scopely had not provided comment on the leaked footage.
