Dispatch Is GOTY Eligible at Game Awards for Second Year in a Row

“Dispatch,” an episodic superhero narrative game developed by AdHoc Studio, has achieved an unusual distinction by becoming eligible for major categories at The Game Awards for the second consecutive year. The game’s entire first season, consisting of eight episodes, was released by November 12, 2025, prior to the November 21 eligibility cutoff date for the 2025 awards.

This represents a notable occurrence in game award history. According to representatives from AdHoc Studio, The Game Awards’ owner and host Geoff Keighley confirmed the game’s eligibility for the 2026 awards. Notably, “Dispatch” was nominated for Best Debut Indie Game in 2025 even though voting judges had only played a portion of the complete season before the nomination deadline, which typically occurs earlier in November.

The game’s continued eligibility demonstrates how episodic releases and award eligibility windows can intersect in unexpected ways within the gaming industry.
