Forza Horizon 6 studio acknowledges to players ‘we haven’t been talking with you as much as we could be’

Playground Games has acknowledged to Forza Horizon 6 players that the studio has not been maintaining sufficient community communication, pledging to improve engagement going forward.

The acknowledgment comes as the developer prepares for the PlayStation 5 release of the racing title. Forza Horizon 6 originally launched on Xbox Series X/S and PC, with the PlayStation version representing a major platform expansion for the franchise, which has historically been exclusive to Xbox and Microsoft platforms.

Communication has emerged as a pain point for players, and Playground Games’ public commitment to better engagement suggests the studio recognizes the importance of regular updates and transparency during the live-service phase. Improved communication channels could include more frequent developer diaries, roadmap updates, or community feedback responses.

As the PS5 release approaches, enhanced communication will be particularly important for onboarding new players from PlayStation’s player base while maintaining momentum among existing players across all platforms. The move represents part of Xbox Game Studios’ broader multiplatform strategy, bringing a traditionally exclusive franchise to Sony hardware for the first time.
