New Outlook will soon check emails for spelling mistakes before they are sent

Microsoft is adding a new layer of proofreading to Outlook with an automatic spell-check feature that verifies emails before they are sent. While Outlook already includes built-in spell check that highlights misspelled words as users type, the new feature addresses the common problem of typos slipping through in longer messages or quick responses. By running a final spell check at the sending stage, the feature aims to prevent costly errors from reaching recipients, providing an extra safeguard beyond the existing red squiggly line indicators. This addition recognizes that spell-check highlights can be easy to miss, particularly in lengthy emails or during rapid correspondence exchanges.
