Ben Affleck Has Some Strong Opinions About Fortnite Skins And How Hard The Game Is For Him
Oscar-winning actor Ben Affleck has opened up about his experience with Fortnite, revealing he’s an avid gamer with a particular interest in first-person shooters. Appearing on the New Heights podcast with NFL brothers Jason and Travis Kelce, Affleck shared candid stories about his struggles with the popular battle royale game.
Despite his background in shooter games, Affleck said he was thoroughly outmatched when he tried Fortnite, getting defeated immediately by his opponents. What made the experience more memorable—and frustrating—was that his competitors were significantly younger players, including 12-year-olds who mocked him after winning. The actor admitted to getting heated during the exchange, responding to the taunting with: “I don’t suck! I’m a grown man!”
Beyond discussing his gaming struggles, Affleck also revealed how Fortnite has influenced his creative work. When asked about the inspiration for costumes in his latest Netflix thriller “Animals,” the actor explained that he drew inspiration from Fortnite skins. The film features a character wearing a fuzzy bunny mask, which Affleck said was influenced by the game’s costume designs.
According to Affleck, his own son has developed an interest in Fortnite skins, frequently referring to them as “tough.” This family interest in the game’s aesthetic ultimately influenced his creative decisions for the film, demonstrating how gaming culture has permeated mainstream entertainment and inspired creative professionals across different media.
