ESL Pro League Playoffs: Falcons and Spirit set for Major Rematch

The ESL Pro League Season 24 has entered the playoffs phase, with eight teams set to compete at the legendary Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland from October 9–11. The final day of the Swiss Stage saw FURIA, Parivision, and Spirit secure their spots in the playoff bracket, completing the field of competitors.

The playoff bracket features an unusual asymmetrical structure, a direct result of several top teams finishing the Swiss Stage with losing records. Both Spirit and FURIA ended with 2–3 records, impacting their seeding and matchup placement in the bracket.

FURIA’s path to the playoffs included losses to MOUZ and Aurora, performances the Brazilian organization attributes to roster fatigue. Having committed to attending virtually every major Tier 1 Counter-Strike event this season, FURIA’s lineup has experienced considerable wear, contributing to the inconsistency that plagued their Swiss Stage performance.

Spirit’s journey to the playoffs proved equally turbulent, with shocking losses marking their group stage campaign. Losses to MOUZ and 1win surprised observers, particularly the defeat to 1win, which came as a notable upset. The results set up what the title promises as a major rematch at the tournament.
