Crowning the best FPS mode of all time through 1v1 combat (ROUND 2)

PC Gamer is running an elimination-style tournament to determine the greatest first-person shooter multiplayer mode of all time. The competition is part of “FOV 90,” a bi-weekly column by staff writer Morgan Park dedicated to FPS games and topics relevant to the FPS community. The tournament format uses head-to-head matchups to rank modes spanning both classic and contemporary games. In Round 1, 16 modes competed based on a seeding determined by the writer. Free-for-All and King of the Hill have already been eliminated after the initial round, with Round 2 now underway. Additional modes will be progressively eliminated as the tournament advances toward determining an ultimate champion. The competition relies on community engagement and voting to determine which modes advance through each round. Morgan Park’s column covers a wide range of FPS-related topics, from multiplayer and singleplayer campaigns to developments in older and newer titles. This special tournament edition represents a unique form of community engagement and collaborative discussion among FPS enthusiasts.
