At New York Comic Con 2026, Marvel Studios confirmed the return of Finn Jones as Iron Fist/Danny Rand for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, marking his first appearance as the character in over a decade. Jones described the return as “a wonderful gift,” reflecting on the personal and professional growth he and his character have experienced during the extended absence.
The announcement extends beyond Iron Fist alone. Charlie Cox, reprising his role as Daredevil in Born Again Season 3, confirmed that the full Defenders team will be reuniting to provide closure to their storyline. Cox emphasized the narrative importance of achieving “a full circle” with the characters’ arc, stating there “needed to be some kind of closure” with the story.
The original Defenders series united four Netflix Marvel characters—Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage—who each had standalone series before teaming up in 2017. The NYCC announcement indicates Marvel Studios is reviving this ensemble storyline within the broader MCU framework through Born Again Season 3.
