Mixtape wins three awards at Australian Game Developer Awards 2026, including GOTY

Beethoven & Dinosaur’s Mixtape has won three awards at the 2026 Australian Game Developer Awards, including the prestigious Game of the Year honor. The game also earned recognition for Excellence in Art and Excellence in Sound Design.

AGDA judges praised Mixtape as “a triumph in virtual storytelling, pairing a distinct visual identity with heartfelt music to deliver one of the most memorable experiences in recent memory.” The recognition highlights the game’s success in combining compelling narrative presentation with distinctive audio-visual design.

Other notable winners at the ceremony included Tempo Lab Games’ rhythm game Bits & Bops, which claimed two awards for Excellence in Gameplay and Accessibility. This recognition underscores the game’s strong mechanical design and inclusive approach to accessibility features.

Canberra-based studio Uppercut Games received Studio of the Year, recognized for fostering a diverse team and workplace culture. The Australian Game Developer Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the region’s game development industry, showcasing creative talent and commitment to quality design.
