Lucasfilm Reveals Star Wars: Ahsoka Prequel Comic ‘Escape From Thrawn’ - NYCC 2026

Lucasfilm and Marvel Comics announced a new five-issue miniseries titled Star Wars: Ahsoka - Escape From Thrawn at New York Comic Con 2026, designed to bridge between seasons of the live-action Ahsoka television series.

The miniseries features a story by Dave Filoni, Lucasfilm’s President and Chief Creative Officer who created the Ahsoka live-action show. Rodney Barnes (Star Wars: Lando - Double or Nothing) scripts the series, with illustrations by Andrea Di Vito (Annihilation) and cover art by Phil Noto.

The comic focuses on Ezra Bridger, portrayed by Eman Esfandi in the live-action show, continuing his narrative after his escape from Peridea at the end of Season 1. The announcement signals increased Star Wars comics activity heading into 2027, following a quieter period on the comics front.

This miniseries exemplifies Lucasfilm’s strategy of using supplementary media—comics, novels, and animated series—to expand live-action Star Wars storylines and maintain fan engagement between television seasons.
