How to get planks and sheet metal in Arc Raiders
Arc Raiders players working on the Sheltered Retreat project will need to gather planks and sheet metal—two essential resources for progression. According to this guide, there are multiple methods to obtain both materials.
The most straightforward approach is purchasing directly from Celeste, the in-game merchant, who sells both planks and sheet metal for three seeds each. This guaranteed method ensures players can quickly gather what they need if they have sufficient currency.
Alternatively, players can source these materials through exploration and looting. Planks are primarily found in residential and old world areas, with Pendola Pass’s Old Town specifically noted as a reliable location. The yellow drawers in Stella Montis’ Assembly area are identified as a guaranteed source for sheet metal. While these materials can theoretically appear anywhere in the game world, they’re most commonly found in the area types mentioned—residential zones for planks and technological or industrial locations for sheet metal.
Players will need these resources after taking a picture of the Ruined Homestead, at which point they can begin committing resources to the Sheltered Retreat project. The combination of purchasable and discoverable options gives players flexibility in their gathering strategy, allowing them to either invest collected seeds for faster acquisition or spend time exploring for free materials.
