Avalanche Studio Group to globally publish, market, and distribute titles from Supermassive Games

Nordisk Games has announced a publishing partnership between two of its subsidiaries, where Avalanche Studios Group will handle global publishing, marketing, and distribution for titles developed by Supermassive Games. The agreement marks a strategic consolidation aimed at strengthening both studios’ market position while preserving creative autonomy.

Supermassive Games’ Directive 8020, which launched earlier this year, will be the first title to benefit from this publishing arrangement. Under the new agreement, both studios will operate as fully independent creative entities, maintaining ownership of their individual game portfolios and development plans.

While consolidating publishing operations, the two subsidiaries will share operational support across finance, people, and IT, allowing them to benefit from streamlined business functions without compromising creative independence. This arrangement reflects a broader industry trend where parent companies seek operational efficiencies while preserving the autonomy of subsidiary studios.

The move positions Avalanche Studios Group as a publisher within the Nordisk Games family while allowing Supermassive Games to focus on game development. By combining Avalanche’s publishing capabilities with Supermassive’s development expertise, Nordisk Games aims to create a more efficient operational structure while maintaining the creative cultures that drive both studios’ work.
