More Cox in video games as Daredevil and Clair Obscur star says he’s in an unannounced Sega title
Actor Charlie Cox, best known for his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Marvel’s Netflix series, has confirmed his involvement in an unannounced video game from publisher Sega. Speaking at New York Comic Con 2026, Cox revealed that he has completed voice recording work for the untitled title, contributing 40 hours of dialogue.
This marks Cox’s second foray into video game voice acting, following his role as Gustav in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which earned him a nomination for Best Performance at the 2025 Game Awards. He described the recording process as challenging and fundamentally different from his film and television work.
Cox shared a humorous anecdote about a cultural misunderstanding during recording sessions. When he arrived for the first time, the Sega team was surprised to discover he is English rather than American. The studio had originally envisioned the character as American, but Cox proceeded to perform 40 hours of dialogue in an American accent without preparation, adapting to their creative direction on the fly.
Despite the unexpected adjustment, Cox indicated the overall experience was enjoyable. Details about the character, story, and release date for the Sega project remain confidential, with Cox uncertain about what he is permitted to disclose publicly.
