Live-action Cyberpunk 2077 film reportedly in development, with CD Projekt Red collaborating with Paramount to make it

Paramount Pictures is developing a live-action film set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, with CD Projekt Red co-producing the project. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, known for his work on the Transformers franchise and previous major film properties including The Matrix and Harry Potter, is attached to the production.

CD Projekt Red co-CEO Michał Nowakowski confirmed the partnership in a statement, saying: “We’re excited about Paramount as a future partner who shares our creative ambitions for the Cyberpunk franchise. We look forward to sharing more details at the appropriate time.”

This live-action adaptation builds on CD Projekt Red’s existing animated content in the Cyberpunk universe. The studio previously partnered with Netflix and animation studio Trigger to produce Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which launched in 2022 and has become a notable success in bringing the franchise to new mediums.

The collaboration represents Paramount’s continued interest in video game adaptations and CD Projekt Red’s expansion of the Cyberpunk franchise beyond its core video game releases.
