Cyberpunk 2077 is being made into a movie, even though we’ve already got the perfect cyberpunk movie starring Keanu Reeves as a guy named Johnny

Paramount Pictures is developing a live-action film adaptation set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe in partnership with developer CD Projekt Red. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is attached to the project, bringing his extensive experience in adapting game and toy franchises for film. His production credits include the Transformers film series, multiple GI Joe movies, and the 2005 science-fiction action film Doom, which starred Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The partnership was confirmed by CD Projekt Red co-CEO Michał Nowakowski via an announcement on X (formerly Twitter), officially validating the collaboration between the prominent Hollywood studio and the Warsaw-based game developer. However, further details about the film’s direction, script, production timeline, and cast remain unannounced at this stage.

The Cyberpunk 2077 movie represents another instance of major video game intellectual property being adapted into film and television projects, reflecting the entertainment industry’s growing investment in gaming-based content for broader audiences.
