Dave The Diver Announces Subnautica 2 DLC Crossover
Dave the Diver is receiving free downloadable content featuring a crossover with Subnautica 2, marking another collaborative expansion for the critically acclaimed indie title. Announced at the Triple-i Showcase, the update was created in partnership with Unknown Worlds, the developer behind Subnautica 2.
The new DLC will enable players to guide Dave and his crew into a fresh dimension, ultimately traveling to Proteus, the ocean moon that serves as a central setting in Subnautica 2. This partnership continues MintRocket’s established strategy of integrating major gaming franchises into Dave the Diver’s ongoing content since the game’s 2023 launch, following previous crossovers with the Like a Dragon series, Dredge, and Godzilla.
The free nature of the DLC reflects a broader live-service approach for Dave the Diver, prioritizing player engagement and community goodwill through high-profile partnerships with other acclaimed studios rather than monetization-focused content. By collaborating with established franchises like Subnautica 2, Dave the Diver creates interconnected experiences that benefit both player communities while maintaining the game’s reputation as a culturally significant indie title.
