Is GTA 6 Coming To Switch 2? Ask Rockstar, Nintendo Says

GTA 6’s potential arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 remains unconfirmed. Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard deflected questions about the port, stating “That’s going to be a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar, but nothing to announce on my end at this time.” The question carries weight given the Switch 2’s demonstrated capability to run demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 Remaster. Since Rockstar is bringing GTA 6 to the less powerful Xbox Series S next month, technical feasibility on the Switch 2 is no longer the limiting factor.

Grand Theft Auto 6 launches in November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC port expected. The game is projected to be one of the largest entertainment releases of all time. A May 2025 report claimed Rockstar was conducting technical tests for Switch 2 compatibility, though developers regularly test platforms without committing to ports. With the Switch 2 now available and third-party publishers bringing major franchises like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to Nintendo’s console, a GTA 6 port remains possible. The final decision rests entirely with Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games.
