‘It Takes Two’ Hops Onto Switch 2 Next Week, Marrying Visual Upgrades & Cross-Play
Hazelight Studios has announced that its award-winning cooperative adventure It Takes Two is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 15th, 2026. The game will be available as a free upgrade for players who own the Switch version on the original Nintendo Switch, making it accessible to existing players without additional cost. The Switch 2 version includes visual upgrades that take advantage of the new hardware’s capabilities, along with cross-platform play support for seamless multiplayer experiences. The Friend’s Pass feature, which allows one player to invite others to join cooperative sessions even if they don’t own a copy, will continue to be available on the Switch 2 version. This release marks the expansion of one of the industry’s most acclaimed cooperative games to Nintendo’s latest console generation, following months of speculation from fans and media outlets.
