Here’s What The Mafia 3 Upgrade Looks Like On Xbox Series X|S
Mafia 3: Definitive Edition has received a free performance upgrade for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, bringing 60fps support to the crime drama on current-generation hardware. The upgrade is now available to players who own the digital version of Mafia 3 from the Xbox One era, with the option also available to those converting disc copies to digital through Xbox’s disc to digital program.
The upgraded version appears as a separate title on the Microsoft Store, listed as “Mafia III: Definitive Edition for XBOX Series X|S,” requiring players to locate and download it independently rather than receiving an automatic update. This distinction ensures clarity between the original Xbox One version and the optimized current-gen release.
The free upgrade demonstrates the ongoing effort to enhance backward compatible and remastered titles for modern console hardware, allowing players to experience the 2016 game with improved performance without requiring a repurchase. Full patch notes detailing the upgrade’s complete feature set and improvements have been provided alongside the release.
