Every Officially Confirmed Marvel Movie and TV Show Coming Through 2029
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is undergoing a strategic shift following box office underperformance from recent films including The Marvels, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Captain America: Brave New World. In contrast, the studio has achieved major successes with Deadpool & Wolverine and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, both billion-dollar earners.
In response to mixed results, Marvel Studios has intentionally reduced its release pace to prioritize quality over quantity. The upcoming slate reflects this more measured approach: 2026 will feature Avengers: Doomsday, designed to revitalize the studio’s flagship franchises, while 2027 will see only one major release—Avengers: Secret Wars, positioned as a significant event film that will serve as a soft reset for the entire MCU.
This strategy aligns with a 2023 initiative from Disney CEO Bob Iger to scale back Marvel’s output and streamline production. The shift represents a broader industry move toward carefully spaced, higher-quality releases rather than market saturation.
