Owlcat’s upcoming samurai CRPG that I wish was on Xbox gets its PC release delayed
Owlcat Games has announced a significant delay for its upcoming samurai-themed CRPG, Shadow of the Road. Originally scheduled to launch on November 12, 2026, the game will now release on March 10, 2027, across PC platforms including Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
The decision to extend development was made to allow developer Another Angler Games additional time to refine crucial gameplay elements. The studio will use the additional four months to polish the tactical turn-based combat system and character progression mechanics, while simultaneously addressing any remaining technical issues to ensure a solid launch experience.
To maintain community engagement during the extended wait, Owlcat Games plans to release regular gameplay videos and development updates. These communications will provide players with progress updates and help sustain interest as they await the revised March release date.
