Dungeons & Dragons Is Going to Outer Space With Star Wars: Tyro Squadron, First Look at Official Art
Wizards of the Coast has announced Star Wars: Tyro Squadron, the next Universes Beyond expansion for Dungeons & Dragons. The announcement came at New York Comic Con 2026, following an initial Star Wars teaser revealed at Gen Con in July.
The expansion includes two main components: a new Core Rules expansion themed around the Star Wars universe and the Tyro Squadron adventure module. The Core Rules expansion is expected to be comprehensive in scope, similar to the recent World of Warcraft expansion for D&D, offering new story hooks and mechanics for playing classic D&D classes within the Star Wars setting.
While specific details about the Tyro Squadron module remain limited, Wizards of the Coast confirmed its existence and provided official artwork. The expansion promises to bring iconic Star Wars elements to the tabletop RPG experience.
This announcement comes before the World of Warcraft D&D expansion has even released, indicating Wizards of the Coast’s continued commitment to the Universes Beyond initiative—their collaborative effort to bring popular franchises into the D&D universe. The Star Wars expansion represents another major intellectual property partnership for the TTRPG publisher.
