Wardogs’ New Rain System Will Have a Major Effect on Gameplay in Season 2
Bulkhead’s Wardogs will introduce a significant weather system in its second season, launching next week. The update will add permanent rain conditions to matches, fundamentally altering how players approach combat and strategy.
Unlike dynamic weather systems that shift during matches, rain in Wardogs Season 2 will persist for the entire duration of matches that include it—players will either experience rainfall from start to finish or none at all. According to senior producer Kane Allard, this weather system “completely changes the game” and will have wide-ranging impacts on gameplay mechanics and player tactics.
Allard acknowledged that the rain system will have mixed reception among the playerbase. While some players will benefit from the new weather mechanics, others may find their preferred playstyles negatively affected by the environmental changes. The developer expects players to need to adapt their strategies to account for how rain alters combat dynamics and visibility on the battlefield.
