Wardogs Players Will Keep Long-Term XP Progress Despite Seasonal Wipes
BULKHEAD has unveiled details about Wardogs’ seasonal progression system, confirming that players will retain long-term XP progress despite seasonal rank resets. In a developer update released Friday, executive producer Joe Brammer and UI/UX director Howard Philpott addressed community concerns about seasonal mechanics, rank disparities, and long-term rewards for invested players.
The game employs seasonal wipes as part of its Early Access roadmap, resetting player progression at the end of each season. However, the developers have implemented a system that preserves long-term XP advancement, ensuring players feel rewarded for their continued investment despite these resets.
The development team acknowledged that the current progression system requires improvement to better demonstrate value to players spending significant time in Wardogs. The update specifically addressed three major player concerns: the mechanics of seasonal resets, issues with rank disparity between players, and the need for meaningful long-term rewards.
By separating seasonal rank resets from permanent XP progression, BULKHEAD aims to balance competitive freshness with player retention incentives. This approach prevents experienced players from dominating new seasons while recognizing dedication through retained XP metrics. The update comes as Wardogs transitions from its first season to its second during Early Access.
