Silent Hill, Gravity Rush director’s Bokeh Game Studio is reportedly casting for a new horror game
Bokeh Game Studio, the indie studio founded by acclaimed director Keiichiro Toyama, is developing a new horror title, according to casting information discovered by MP1st. Toyama, known for directing the original Silent Hill and creating the Siren series and Gravity Rush franchise, is expanding his horror portfolio with this unnamed project.
The studio is currently recruiting motion capture performers for the game, with casting sheets revealing planned character names including River, Dean, Lyra, Hazel, Becca, Dena, Emma, and an eight-year-old girl. The character descriptions indicate mature thematic elements, encompassing drug use and trafficking, violence, abuse, grief, and sex work. Several characters are described as undergoing creature transformation, a narrative element reminiscent of Toyama’s recent title Slitterhead, which similarly explored body horror and transformation mechanics.
While specific details about the game’s setting, plot, or platform remain undisclosed, the casting requirements and character descriptions suggest a narrative-focused horror experience aligned with Toyama’s established creative vision. The project represents a continued exploration of psychological and body horror themes that have defined his career, from Silent Hill’s psychological terror to Slitterhead’s grotesque creature design.
With motion capture talent being actively recruited, the game appears to be in active development, though no release window or official announcement has been made by Bokeh Game Studio at this time.
