Henry Cavill’s New Sci-fi Streaming Series Sets Carrie Reboot Creator to Direct
Henry Cavill will star in an upcoming Warhammer 40,000 live-action series for Prime Video. Games Workshop has tapped director Mike Flanagan and United Artists to produce the adaptation.
Flanagan is renowned for his work adapting Stephen King novels, including Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep, as well as a new Carrie adaptation that is currently topping streaming charts. His expertise in horror and psychological thriller material positions him well to capture the dark, dystopian setting of Warhammer 40,000’s grim far-future universe.
According to Games Workshop’s July financial report, Amazon has assigned United Artists and Flanagan to the project. CEO Kevin Rountree stated that initial outlines have been completed, with Flanagan moving forward on script development. The production represents a significant move to bring the Warhammer 40,000 universe to live-action television, reflecting the growing industry trend of adapting established game properties and intellectual properties for streaming audiences.
