Phasmophobia confirms 30 million sales as its Crimson Eye Halloween event returns

Phasmophobia, the cooperative ghost-hunting game developed by Kinetic Games, has reached 30 million copies sold across PC and console platforms since launching in Early Access in 2020. The developer announced this major milestone alongside the return of Crimson Eye, the game’s annual Halloween event, which is now live and runs through November 1st.

The Crimson Eye event introduces blood moon weather to a rotating selection of maps, intensifying gameplay challenge. The blood moon effect causes ghosts to move faster and drains player sanity more rapidly than standard gameplay, while offering increased payouts as compensation for the heightened difficulty. Featured event maps include Tanglewood Drive, Camp Woodwind, Grafton Farmhouse, Bleasdale Farmhouse, Point Hope (standard only), Edgefield Road, Nell’s Diner, and Willow Street.

The event includes community goals that unlock cosmetic rewards including the Beholder ID Card and Badge, plus the Blood Moon Trophy. This milestone underscores Phasmophobia’s sustained success as a live-service title in the cooperative multiplayer space.
