BAFTA awards over £270,000 to 112 recipients in UK and US to support career growth in games, film, and TV
BAFTA has distributed over £270,000 in grants to 112 recipients across the UK and North America as part of its 2026 Prince William BAFTA Bursary and scholarship programmes. The initiatives aim to support emerging creative talent in the games, film, and television industries by providing financial assistance and practical support to help individuals advance their careers.
The Prince William Bursary alone supported 100 recipients, marking a 40% increase from the previous year, demonstrating growing demand and commitment to nurturing creative talent. The bursaries offer grants of up to £2,000 to eligible individuals across Wales, Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland, with funds designated to cover essential career-building expenses including professional training, equipment purchases, software licenses, relocation costs, and other vital needs.
The programmes represent BAFTA’s broader mission to address barriers to entry and development in the creative industries, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent talented individuals from pursuing careers in games, film, and television. By providing this targeted financial support, BAFTA aims to foster diversity and expand opportunities across these sectors.
