Explore the town of Detour in this new Fallout 4 mod chock full of voiced NPCs and quests
A new mod for Fallout 4 created by veteran modders introduces Detour, a fully-realized town settlement positioned on the ruined freeways of the game’s post-apocalyptic Boston wasteland. The mod adds a new quest hub with voiced NPCs and multiple quests, designed to serve as a destination players can visit early in their playthrough. Located near the early-game location Sanctuary and the Bedford Station map marker, Detour draws inspiration from similar settlement locations in other Fallout titles, including Arefu from Fallout 3 and Highway Town from Fallout 76’s Burning Springs update.
The mod creators have indicated that Detour will receive ongoing updates with new content and additions over time, establishing it as a long-term project rather than a static release. The settlement represents the kind of community-driven expansion that has historically extended Fallout 4’s longevity, providing players with fresh exploration opportunities and additional narrative content beyond what the base game offers.
