Stardew Valley’s Monster-Mash Cousin Sets New Release Date
Perfect Garbage has announced a new release date for its upcoming horror-themed farm simulation game Grave Seasons. The indie studio revealed during the Cozy After Dark showcase on Monday that the game will launch on March 9, 2027, providing clarity after the project was previously delayed from its original August release with no target date.
Grave Seasons marks an ambitious blend of genres, combining farming simulation mechanics with supernatural horror elements. Rather than following a traditional goal-driven structure, the game emphasizes storytelling, with its narrative centered around a small village plagued by supernatural serial killers. The player assumes the role of a recently released convict who relocates to the village, with the option to pursue these mysterious antagonists—or ignore them entirely.
The game’s progression is structured around a single in-game year per story arc, with each year dedicated to investigating and potentially stopping a different supernatural killer. Once that year concludes, the narrative for that particular antagonist ends, though the showcase presentation suggested there may be opportunities to experience additional stories beyond the initial tale. This cyclical approach gives each playthrough a defined endpoint while potentially offering replay value through different narrative branches.
The announcement and demonstration at Cozy After Dark provided the first substantial look at how autumn progresses within the game and details about its progression mechanics. This is the first major update on the project since it entered development limbo, giving fans of both cozy games and horror a concrete timeline for when they can experience Perfect Garbage’s unusual genre hybrid.
