Gigabyte deletes blog post on Intel LGA1700 chips in early 2027, but it can’t put the cat back in the bag

Gigabyte accidentally revealed details about Intel’s upcoming LGA1700 processors in a blog post last week, disclosing plans for what appears to be a Raptor Lake refresh with expanded DDR4 support. The company expected these chips to arrive around early 2027 and had already begun releasing BIOS updates for B760 and H610 motherboards to ensure compatibility.

This week, Gigabyte removed the original blog post entirely and replaced it with a less explicit version in an apparent attempt to contain the information. However, the damage was already done—the specifications and launch timeline had been widely distributed and documented.

The premature disclosure highlights the challenges manufacturers face in coordinating product announcements with partners. While Gigabyte’s swift action to delete the post suggests the information may have been shared ahead of Intel’s official announcement schedule, the details are now public knowledge among industry observers and enthusiasts. The incident underscores how difficult it is to suppress information once released online, even when officially retracted.
