Going Medieval’s new diplomacy update is all about calling your neighbouring settlements for favours, which yes, may mean delivering a cow or two in return

Going Medieval, the medieval settlement management sim, has released a new diplomacy update following the game’s version 1.0 launch in March. Developer Foxy Voxel has been expanding the title since its nearly five-year early access period, with the latest patch introducing a comprehensive diplomacy system for engaging with the game’s various factions.

The update enables players to interact with 12 NPC factions organized into six distinct types. The new mechanics emphasize diplomatic relations, allowing players to request favours from neighbouring settlements. These interactions operate on a trade system where fulfilling another settlement’s requests may yield benefits, though players must provide resources in return, such as delivering livestock like cows.

The diplomacy system offers an alternative to the game’s existing hostile interactions. While players can choose to attack most factions, the diplomatic route provides a more cooperative gameplay path. Notably, one faction type—the cannibals—appears to have restrictions on diplomatic engagement.

This represents another significant content addition as the developer continues post-launch support. The combination of settlement management mechanics with faction diplomacy expands the strategic depth, providing players multiple approaches to achieve their goals.
