Oblivion Remastered Gets A New Switch 2 Update, Resolves “Global Visual Degradation” Issue

Bethesda has released a new update for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 that resolves visual quality issues introduced in the previous month’s Update 1.1.

The previous month’s Update 1.1 arrived with numerous bug fixes for the Switch 2 version of the classic fantasy RPG remaster. However, players quickly noticed that the update had unintended negative consequences for the game’s visual presentation. Reports emerged of degraded visuals in both docked and handheld play modes, with affected players describing the issues as “blurry or lower-quality visuals compared to previous versions” of the game.

Bethesda acknowledged the problem in an official statement, confirming that some players were indeed experiencing these visual quality regressions. The publisher has now addressed the issue with a new patch that targets the global visual degradation problem that plagued the game since the 1.1 release.

This update represents Bethesda’s effort to restore the visual quality and presentation that players had experienced prior to the problematic 1.1 patch. The fix comes in response to player feedback and demonstrates the publisher’s commitment to maintaining quality standards for the Switch 2 version of the beloved fantasy title.
