Tekken 8 finally gives a first look at upcoming guest Yujiro Hanma from Baki, and he looks just as grotesque as you’d expect
Tekken 8 is set to receive Yujiro Hanma, the main antagonist from the Baki manga and anime series, as a guest character in Season 3 of its DLC pass. Alongside returning veteran fighters Kunimitsu, Bob, and Roger Jr., Yujiro represents a headline addition to the fighting game’s expanding post-launch content cycle.
Yujiro was first announced in May through a cinematic trailer composed entirely of panels from the original Baki manga, leaving fans wondering how the character’s distinctively grotesque and exaggerated appearance would translate to Tekken 8’s Unreal Engine 5 hyper-realistic graphics. Bandai Namco has opted to preserve Yujiro’s grotesque character design rather than soften it for the game, resulting in a faithfully unsettling adaptation that honors the source material.
The in-game reveal occurred at Evo France, providing the first official gameplay look at Yujiro. The developer’s decision to maintain his striking visual aesthetics demonstrates a commitment to authenticity in bringing the Baki character into Tekken 8’s roster. This approach contrasts with typical guest character adaptations, which often moderate distinctive design elements to fit a game’s established visual style.
