How to complete The Emissary in Valor Mortis
The Emissary is a quest in Valor Mortis encountered after crossing the bridge into the Valley of Ashes and entering an army camp. Players discover the seal of a Bonaparte emissary in an abandoned carriage, triggering the quest.
The main obstacle is navigating poison clouds that infest the camp and block progression. To advance, players require the Shield Transmutation ability, a defensive power that enables passage through hazardous areas. This ability is obtained later in the game at the university, where it serves as the final transmutation unlock.
Because of this late-game requirement, The Emissary quest cannot be completed until players have significantly advanced through Valor Mortis’s story progression. However, since the Shield Transmutation is the final transmutation in the game, it is impossible to miss, ensuring all players will eventually gain the ability needed to progress.
