Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Preload and Global Release Times Confirmed for Campaign, DMZ, and the Full Game
Activision has announced the staggered release schedule for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which will roll out across multiple platforms throughout October. The full game, including multiplayer, launches on October 23 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and Nintendo Switch 2.
However, players with certain pre-orders can access portions of the game earlier through Early Access. The campaign becomes available on October 16, giving early adopters a full week to experience the single-player story before the full release. DMZ, Modern Warfare 4’s extraction mode, will launch on October 20, positioned between the campaign early access and the complete game release.
This phased release strategy allows Activision to distribute the launch load across platforms while giving pre-order customers exclusive early access to specific game modes. The staggered approach means different components of Modern Warfare 4 will be playable at different times, with multiplayer being held exclusively for the October 23 launch date for all players.
Preload details have also been confirmed, though the full specifications vary by platform. Players across all supported systems can prepare their devices ahead of each release window to ensure they’re ready to play as soon as content becomes available.
