PS1 Classics on PS5 Keep on Coming in Dino Crisis 2, Out Next Week

Dino Crisis 2, the classic Capcom survival horror game originally released on PS1, is coming to PlayStation 5 and PS4. The game will launch on October 20, 2026 through the PS Store, continuing Capcom’s initiative to bring vintage titles to modern PlayStation hardware.

The release will be made immediately available to PS Plus Premium subscribers at no additional cost. For those without the subscription, the game will also be available for individual purchase at an expected price of £7.99 / $9.99.

The port leverages Sony’s standard classic conversion enhancements, providing players with modern quality-of-life features. These include rewind functionality, video filters for visual customization, and quick save options that improve accessibility for contemporary players. Such features are standard across PlayStation’s classic game releases.

One notable limitation is the absence of Trophy support on this port. This is consistent with how Capcom’s other classic titles have been handled during their transition to PS5 and PS4, remaining a point of distinction from some other publishers’ classic releases that have received retrospective Trophy additions.

This release marks another step in PlayStation’s ongoing game preservation efforts, making beloved PS1 classics available to both longtime fans seeking nostalgia and newer players discovering these historically significant titles.
