Team Falcons Begin High-Pressure Thunderpick World Championship 2026
The Thunderpick World Championship 2026 brings together eight of the world’s top Counter-Strike 2 teams in a high-stakes esports competition. Team Falcons enter as heavy favorites, coming off their victory at the IEM Cologne 2026 Major. However, their lack of trophy wins since Cologne adds significant pressure to their championship campaign.
The tournament employs a double-elimination group stage format, split into two four-team groups. Group A features Team Falcons against NiP, with 9z and Aurora competing separately. Group B includes Legacy versus Parivision and FURIA. The top teams from each group advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket.
The tournament structure prioritizes competitive integrity, with best-of-3 matches throughout the group stage and playoffs. The Grand Final is elevated to a best-of-5 contest, while the third-place decider also precedes the Grand Final as a best-of-3 match. This format ensures the tournament’s ultimate champion is thoroughly tested across multiple rounds.
