Gears of War: E-Day Mod Adds Halo, Star Wars, and Warhammer 40,000 Skins

A Gears of War: E-Day mod has introduced a character skin selector that enables players to customize the game’s core cast with characters from other popular franchises. The mod, titled “Incursion” and created by developer Tom Whaley, significantly expands the visual customization options available in the tactical third-person shooter prequel.

The mod allows players to change the appearance of the four main squad members—Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, Margaret “Mags” Carmine, and Lucas “Gabe” Diaz—with skins representing characters from across gaming and entertainment media. Options include Halo Spartans, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marines, and Star Wars Clone Troopers, alongside in-universe Gears of War skins that maintain thematic consistency with the franchise.

Players can apply these cosmetic modifications through the new skin selector interface accessible from either the main menu or the in-game pause menu, providing flexible customization at multiple points during gameplay. The mod demonstrates the creative potential of E-Day’s modding community, allowing fans to reimagine how recognizable characters from other properties might fit within the Gears universe.

Tom Whaley accompanied the release with a question about what Halo might look like if developed by The Coalition, the studio currently leading Gears franchise development. The addition of cosmetic mods like Incursion reflects ongoing community engagement with Gears of War: E-Day and demonstrates player interest in expanded customization options.
