Gears of War: E-Day Patch Fixes Ranked Placement

Gears of War: E-Day received a significant patch on October 14, just over a week after its October 6 release. The Coalition released what they describe as a “major update that impacts all areas of the game,” addressing issues across multiple game modes.

The most notable fix addresses a ranked placement problem in Ranked Versus mode. Shortly after the ranked system’s launch, The Coalition identified an issue that incorrectly placed some players in the wrong skill divisions. This has now been corrected.

Beyond ranked, the patch makes extensive improvements across the game. Campaign mode received multiple fixes, including issues affecting the War Journal and Achievements. Horde Siege and Versus modes also benefited from various quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.

The update prioritizes stability and performance, with the developers implementing numerous improvements across different hardware configurations. A particular focus was addressing crashes and performance degradation that occurred during extended play sessions.

This is the first major update since launch, indicating The Coalition moved quickly to address player-reported issues and improve the overall experience.
