Exclusive: See Johnny Depp’s Transformation Into Ebenezer Scrooge | IGN Fall Fan Fest 2026
Actor Johnny Depp is set to star in the upcoming film Ebenezer, a new take on the classic A Christmas Carol story arriving next month. IGN exclusively revealed footage from the production at Fall Fan Fest 2026, showcasing Depp’s extensive transformation into the iconic Ebenezer Scrooge through comprehensive makeup and prosthetic work.
Depp underwent significant makeup application for the role, with co-star Trammell Tillman—who plays the Ghost of Christmas Present—noting that the actor was difficult to recognize once fully made up. According to Tillman, Depp was enthusiastic about bringing his own interpretation to the classic character.
Prosthetic designer Barrie Gower praised Depp’s collaborative approach to the makeup process, explaining that the actor actively contributed creative suggestions to refine the character’s appearance. Depp advocated for specific design elements, including facial features such as moles and adjustments to chin length, working closely with the design team to craft the final look.
