Supercell confirms Squad Busters will shut down on December 14
Supercell has announced the shutdown of Squad Busters, with the game being removed from app stores on December 1, 2026, and becoming unplayable on December 14, 2026. Players who already have the game installed will be able to continue playing until the final shutdown date, with all in-game events and timers concluding on December 14.
The developer first announced the end of Squad Busters development in October 2025, indicating the game would close sometime in 2026. In-app purchases were disabled following that announcement, and players lost the ability to transfer purchase value to other Supercell titles at the end of 2025. Supercell determined there was no viable path forward for the game following multiple reworks, including the Heroes update. The studio stated that continuing development would have required such extensive changes that the game would have become essentially a completely different title.
